Alexis and Wesley’s Lake Elopement
〰️
〰️
Most weddings take months or years to plan. Alexis and Wes pulled it off in a week. Instead of drawn out planning, spreadsheets, and debating linen colors they simply made a few quick decisions and fired off texts to their closet friends saying “hey, can you get here by next weekend?”
The ceremony itself was perfect in every way. The weather was gorgeous - 73 degrees and sunny in March, unheard of in the Pacific Northwest. The ceremony was simple and held in a spot with special meaning to them, a spot right off the trail at Lacamas Lake Park in Camas. No elaborate setup, no pressure to perform. Just pure love standing by the water, saying the words and meaning them. It felt easy in a way most weddings don’t
And then, instead of pivoting into a formal reception or sticking to any kind of script, they did the only logical thing: they ran straight into the lake. Fully dressed. It wasn’t planned, but it was perfect and so true to who they are as people. Equal parts chaos and decisiveness.
That’s the thing about a wedding like this. When you strip it down to what actually matters, there’s not much left to stress about. Just the perfect place, the most abundant love, and the people who care about you the most.
Honestly, it’s hard to imagine a better way to do it.
